
Ting-Hsuan Lee
Assistant Professor
Dr. Ting-Hsuan Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Psychology Program, Institute of Education, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. She had a licensed Counseling Psychologist (Certificate No. 002236), a licensed Social Worker (Certificate No. 0990702700), and a certified Counseling Supervisor (Certificate No. 111030). With approximately 15 years of clinical counseling experience, her professional expertise encompasses gender, sexuality and sexual minority issues, couple and family therapy. Her work has consistently focused on how power, hierarchy, and sociocultural contexts shape counseling relationships and psychotherapeutic processes. Her primary theoretical orientations are Structural Family Therapy and Feminist Therapy, emphasizing systemic perspectives and the pursuit of social justice in counseling practice
Dr. Lee’s research focuses on gender, intimate relationships, and psychotherapy, with a particular emphasis on qualitative research methodologies. Through in-depth interviews, lived experience inquiry, and interpretative analysis, she examines the dynamic interplay between individuals’ life experiences and broader sociocultural contexts, seeking to construct meaningful and theoretically grounded interpretations of human experience. In recent years, she has devoted substantial effort to advancing scholarship on asexuality. Her research has explored topics including identity development, coming-out experiences, intimate relationships, sexual interactions, and sexual negotiation among asexual individuals. Through this body of work, she aims to deepen both academic and clinical understanding of the mental health and well-being of sexual minority populations while promoting greater gender awareness and social inclusion.
