His research and teaching areas include integrating innovative interactive feedback technologies, such as classroom interactive feedback, physiological signal feedback, and intelligent online feedback, and studying the impact of these learning environments on learning motivation. He received the Mr. Wu Da-You Memorial Award and the Outstanding Research Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2016 and 2021, respectively. Over the years, his main focus in the Ministry of Science and Technology’s research projects has been on developing interactive feedback technologies and instructional strategies and evaluating their impact on learning motivation. The educational projects he has undertaken for the Ministry of Education mainly involve the construction and maintenance of the Taiwan Academic Ethics Education Center website, the development of an adaptive online learning system, and the research of learning patterns of online users through learning analytics, sequence analysis, and cluster analysis, with the aim of improving learning systems, enhancing student learning motivation, and guiding the design of intelligent learning systems.

The past published journal papers have mainly focused on innovative teaching tools and learning motivation. Among them, a study published in the Computers & Education journal utilized brainwave data analysis within the classroom to evaluate interactive learning technologies and provide innovative research methods in the field of digital learning. In terms of practical application, during the execution of the project funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, a tablet-based teaching tool called iFIT was developed, which enables teachers to engage in classroom interactions and provide instant feedback during lessons. The promotion of this teaching tool was carried out through local educational counseling activities, including keynote speeches, teaching demonstrations, and comprehensive discussions, allowing secondary school teachers to learn diverse teaching methods and effectively integrate information technology into their instruction. The ultimate goal was to enhance teachers’ diverse instructional skills and promote more effective teaching models.
