劉奕蘭為交通大學教育研究所教授,專長領域為親子互動及青少年社會發展與適應。劉教授畢業於國立臺灣大學植物病理學系,後專業領域由微生物學轉至心理學。她於紐澤西州立羅格斯大學取得諮商與輔導碩士學位,並於德州大學奧斯汀分校取得人類發展與教育博士學位。她先前於國立清華大學任職副教授,為期七年半,後轉任國立台東大學,為期四年。劉教授的研究為個體特質(如依附風格、個性、認知)及家庭情境(如親子互動)與青少年自主、自我發展、沮喪、情緒調節、內在與外在行為問題有何關聯。劉教授是位研究取向多樣的心理學家,研究方式多採用問卷型式,除此之外,會採用半結構式訪談去了解兒童及青少年在家庭與同儕情境中的權威、憤怒表達常規和憤怒調節策略的認知發展,也會使用語句完成測驗以測量自我發展,或是觀察母親與青少年的情感互動,使用電子日記將青少年與母親互動的日常影響記錄下來。近年研究透過VR應用技術,探討影響校園霸凌旁觀者助人行為的成因與介入課程的發展。
